Jan Koum was born on February 24, 1976
He is a Ukrainian-American internet inventor and computer programmer.

In 1998 both started working in yahoo along with Koum.
In September 2007 Koum and Acton left Yahoo and took a year off, traveling around South America and playing ultimate frisbee. Both applied, and failed, to work at Facebook
In the year 2009 both applied for a job at facebook, and were turned down.
Later what they did is all history.
Feb. 24, 2009, they incorporated WhatsApp Inc. in California.
Acton was turned down by both twitter and Facebook.
In 2014, Koum and Acton agreed to sell WhatsApp to Facebook for approximately $19 billion USD in cash and stock.
